Fantastic New Weight Loss Treatment

Here is a great new weight loss treatment that can help even the biggest people lose weight rapidly. As a clinical hypnotherapist, I have seen more success with this therapy than any other. Let me tell you all about it…

This innovative new hypnotherapy treatment for weight loss is called Gastric Band Hypnotherapy.

In my experience, patients experience a massive reduction in their appetite, and typically lose somewhere between 2-4 pounds per week. This may not sound like much, but over 8 weeks this comes to between 16 and 32 pounds. This is enough to transform most peoples’ physiques in just 8 weeks. You can of course keep losing weight for much longer.

new weight loss treatmentGastric band hypnotherapy helps people lose weight by convincing their subconscious minds that they have undergone gastric band surgery. The mind thinks and acts like a gastric band has been fitted. You then experience a much reduced appetite, which leads to rapid weight loss.

Gastric band surgery typically takes 3 sessions. The idea is that they will try to recreate the real surgery as closely as possible, which also takes 3 sessions. In your mind you will walk the corridors of a clinic. Meet the doctors and nurses, look around the building, and experience the various procedures. You will wake up like you have just woken up from a surgical procedure. This leads to the subconscious mind to believe that this has really happened.

Advantages over surgery

Gastric band hypnosis has several advantages over surgery. Here are just a few of them…

1. It is far cheaper. Surgery costs around $10,000, whereas hypnotherapy is usually around 10 times cheaper.

2. There are no scars with the hypnosis treatment.

3. No pain, discomfort or recovery time off work. You don’t need to miss a single day at work with gastric band hypnosis.

Advantages over “live” hypnotherapy

Gastric Band HypnosisHypnoBusters now offers gastric band hypnotherapy in mp3 format. This gives you even more advantages over “live” hypnosis sessions. Here are some of them…

1. Mp3s can be supplied around 10 times less than it would cost to hire a hypnotherapist.

2. You don’t need to book an appointment and travel to visit a clinical hypnotherapist. You can download the sessions immediately to your PC and listen to them in the comfort and privacy of your home.

3. Your sessions can be listened to as many times as you wish in order to strengthen the effects.

If you have tried all the fad diets and they have not worked for you, then gastric band hypnotherapy could be the one that finally cracks it. It doesn’t promise miracle weight loss. What it does promise is a reduction in your appetite, which then leads to rapid weight loss.

UPDATE 20/08/2014 Feedback has shown that Gastric Band Hypnotherapy has been very effective for helping people shed large amounts of weight permanently. Here are some examples below. Please click here to learn more about my Gastric Band Hypnosis MP3

Make Your Face Look Younger – Self Hypnosis Technique

How To Make Your Face Look Younger…

This is totally serious. You can improve your face and look younger with this simple yet effective meditation/self hypnosis exercise. After I describe the method, I will explain how and why it works so well.

  1. Get yourself comfortable, either seated or led down, and close your eyes.
  2. Take 10 slow deep breaths and say to yourself the word relax on each out breath.
  3. Focus your attention on your forehead for a minute or two. Make it relax as much as you can.
  4. Move down and focus on your cheeks for a minute or two and concentrate on making them relax as much as possible.
  5. Then do the same, moving down to your jaw, then your tongue, then your neck.
  6. Take 10 more slow deep breaths, again saying to yourself the word relax on each out breath.
  7. Look in the mirror!

Make Your Face Look YoungerIt’s amazing how quickly and how much this exercise can freshen up your face and make your face look younger. It’s a great boost for before you go for a night out.

This works on the same principals as a botox procedure, but without the injection of poison into your face. Most of us carry too much tension in our faces due mainly to stress. Relaxing the muscles in your face helps smooth out wrinkles, and gives you a more youthful glow. The only difference is that it is your mind directing your facial muscles to relax, and not an injection.

Although this exercise is largely a temporary boost, it does provide long term benefits. You become more skilled at relaxing the muscles in your face, and so you see better results over time. Also used regularly, you can actually reverse some of the finer lines in your face, providing a permanent improvement in your looks.

If you want more help, check out my popular hypnotherapy session Hypnotic Botox. It’s over 15 minutes long and can greatly help you relax your facial muscles and smooth out lines…

What Is a Panic Attack?

Jon Rhodes
UK Clinical Hypnotherapist Jon Rhodes

What is a panic attack?

It is normal and natural to get panicky from time to time. You may be late for work, think you can hear a burglar, or ready to sit an exam. These feelings are normal and pass fairly quickly.

These feelings are down to our natural ‘flight or fight’ responses. Your heart beats quicker and your digestive system closes down in order to allow your body to concentrate on the perceived threat.

A panic attack has similarities with this, but there are some differences. A panic attack often occurs when there is no obvious physical threat, and the feelings are stronger than ‘normal’ panic.

What Is a Panic Attack? But remember this – Panic attacks are not dangerous and nothing bad is going to happen to you.

It’s important that you accept this. A panic attack is like a false alarm – like an annoying smoke detector that goes off at the wrong times.

Your ‘alarm system’ was designed millions of years ago when we had more dangers to deal with. We have a lot less potential threats to deal with now, but your body doesn’t know this. Instead we have lots of modern stresses to deal with, that we are not designed to experience. (Check out my article about why stress is like a glass of water).

A large number of people have experienced panic attacks at some point in their lives. Some people get them daily, whereas others get them every few months. They are fairly common and not a sign of mental illness, but they can affect people more if they have conditions such as an anxiety disorder or borderline personality disorder.

Some of the symptoms include:

  • Heart pounding, beating fast, or missing a beat
  • Chest pains
  • Breathing fast or feeling short of breath
  • Numbness or tingling in the fingers toes or lips
  • Feeling sick
  • Feeling faint
  • Feelings of terror
  • Feelings of unreality, like you are not really there
  • Feeling anxious in situations where you have had a panic attack before

People often think negative thoughts, which are untrue, such as:

  • I am having a heart attack
  • I am going to be sick
  • I cannot breath
  • I am going to make an idiot of myself
  • I have to get out of here now

After experiencing a panic attack people sometimes escape the situation they think caused it, and avoid it. This re-enforces the fear. The longer you leave it before facing the situation again, the more your mind is convinced the same will happen.

It is better to quickly face the situation again, even if you need to ‘dilute’ it at first. For example if you had a panic attack in the supermarket, you may wish to visit the supermarket but not go in. For the next step you may wish to go inside, but not buy anything. Next you may wish to do a small shop, or have a friend to go with you. After a while you can gradually get back to normal.

By challenging your fears you become more in control, and the attacks should become less common.

Panic attacks are successfully treated with hypnosis. They are down to your subconscious mind triggering your automatic fear response. Hypnosis can reprogram your subconscious to stop this…

Improve Your Digestion, Tone Your Abs and Lower Your Blood Pressure

Jon Rhodes
UK Clinical Hypnotherapist Jon Rhodes

What if I told you that in just five minutes a day you could improve your digestive system, tone up your abs AND lower your blood pressure? Sounds too good to be true? Just follow these instructions and feel the benefits…

This quick exercise is great to do as soon as you wake up, and just before you go to sleep. If used regularly it aids your digestive system, improve stomach tone and lowers blood pressure. It also leaves you feeling calm and relaxed.

Before you begin I should note that if you feel any pain during this exercise (this is highly unlikely though) then stop immediately and consult a doctor. Here we go…

Improve Your Digestion, Tone Your Abs and Lower Your Blood PressureRest on your back, in bed, with your hands by your sides. Imagine a white, glowing light surrounding you like a protective bubble. Feel the warmth. Take a deep breath as the white light is being taken in by your lungs and flowing around your body.

When you have taken in as much oxygen as possible breath out slowly. As you breath out squeeze your upper abdominals towards your lower abdominals while making an “ssss” sound like a snake.

Repeat this ten times when you wake up and ten time before you go to sleep. You will find yourself more relaxed with an improved digestive system and well toned abs. Enjoy!

Would you like to be able to control your blood pressure? I have created a hypnosis session that teaches you a visualisation trick to help you control your blood pressure, whether it’s too high or too low…

Dealing With Depression

Jon Rhodes
UK Clinical Hypnotherapist Jon Rhodes

Dealing With Depression…

Depression is a common problem which effects hundreds of million people worldwide. It often goes undiagnosed.

At best some feel “a little blue”, but at it’s worst depression is debilitating and fatal. Around 15% of people who are clinically depressed take their own life. Suicide is the eighth leading cause of death in America with approximately 40,000 deaths and 550,000 attempts.

Symptoms of depression include – feeling miserable and tired, not enjoying activities you once took pleasure in, anxiety, thoughts of suicide, feeling like a failure, loss of confidence, aches and pains with no apparent physical cause, feeling you have no future.

I would like to stress that, if you feel you are suffering from depression, please go and see a doctor. They are very helpful with such matters and can point you to local counselling sessions.

Dealing With Depression2 main types of depression

There are many different kinds of depression. They stem from two main types. One, which is caused by a negative event in your life, known as psychological depression. The second has no apparent cause or reason. This is called existential depression – and is the most common.

Psychological depression is the easiest to overcome, as you know the root of the problem. It is important to step back and look at the event that triggered the depression. It may be the death of a loved one, a divorce, job loss or any other setback.

With existential depression it is more difficult as you do not know the cause. Two things are important in these cases – how bad the depression is, and how long you have been suffering. This kind of depression is harder to deal with, as others aren’t as understanding or sympathetic.

These two types of depression branch off into many different kinds of depression. This includes – Postnatal depression, manic depression, seasonal adjustment disorder, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, postpartum depression, atypical depression, major depression, dysthymia and more. These can all be treated with various kinds of medication. However drugs do not treat depression, only the symptoms.

Antidepressants are only effective in one third of cases, partially effective in another third and have no effect in the other third. A lot of people who are prescribed antidepressants do not finish the course because they find the side effects to be more unpleasant than the depression itself. It is a documented fact that sufferers of depression who are treated by antidepressants alone, relapse 80% of the time.

How you can deal with your depression

What should you do to deal with depression? The first two things you should do are tell a doctor, and tell a family member. If there are counselling sessions available (these are usually free), go to at least a handful to see if they work for you.

A change of diet and lifestyle may also help. The high sugar in sweets and excess fat in snack foods can send your mind “haywire” as it is constantly monitoring hormone and chemical levels. Maintaining a balanced diet of foods such as fruits, vegetables, cereals, yoghurts, fish, lean meat and pulses will improve both your physical and mental health.

Try and exercise for thirty minutes everyday. This can be as simple as taking the dog for a walk, joining a yoga, tai chi, or aerobics class. When you exercise your brain releases endorphins that produce a sense of well-being and make you feel happier and energised.

Since 2004, the UK’s NHS has recognised meditation’s ability to help depression, anxiety and pain…

Coping With Anger

Jon Rhodes
UK Clinical Hypnotherapist Jon Rhodes

Coping with anger is an issue for many of us. I’m sure you know what anger feels like, and have felt it bubbling inside you…

Anger itself is not bad; it is part of your emotional armour from back in our past “fight or flight” stage. Like stress, anger gives you the motivation to get up and do something.

But anger, if not dealt with, can grow into a destructive force. It can become both verbally and physically harmful to yourself and others. To cope with your anger you need to accept the cause.

coping with angerWhat makes you angry? – Is it being ignored? Shouted at? Treated poorly in comparison to others? Mistakes you’ve made? Mistakes others made? Feeling humiliated? Criticism? Others being angry with you?

Who are you most commonly angry with? – Your partner? Your children? Family? Friends? Work colleagues? Strangers?

How do you express your anger? – Do you ignore it until you “blow up”? Blame others? Violent thoughts?

Who are you comfortable with expressing your anger? – Your partner? A close neighbour or friend? A parent? No-one?

How to cope with anger? To cope with anger, you have to accept responsibility for your anger. Instead of thinking “you/they made me angry” say to yourself “I am angry”.

It is not other people who make you angry – it is you who responds to them in a “negative” away. Take the attitude that it is YOUR responsibility to how to react. No one can MAKE you angry.

How do you go about calming yourself down? Here’s some methods…

Breathing exercises – When you are angry your breathing often becomes short and shallow. When this happens take note and start taking deep breaths. Picture the oxygen flowing around your body, refreshing your mind and improving your circulation. For specific breathing exercises please visit this article.

A calm word or phrase – Pick a word or phrase such as “cool down”, “relax” or “take it easy” and repeat it to yourself while taking long, deep breaths.

Light Exercise – If possible join a local yoga or tai chi class/course. You will learn how to relax your muscles and release any “negative” energy.

Imagery – Imagine yourself in a “happy place”. This can be somewhere you’ve been in the past, somewhere you would like to go or somewhere you’ve made up. It should be a place where you can relax and unwind without a care in the world.

Hypnotherapy – Hypnotherapy is fantastic for helping you de-stress and relax.

Can White Noise Help Me?

Jon Rhodes
UK Clinical Hypnotherapist Jon Rhodes

Can White Noise Help Me?

Did you know that white noise has some amazing healing properties?

Find out how white noise, and other coloured sounds can help you…

What is white noise?

White noise is a random scattering of all the audible sounds your ear can hear. It contains all the frequencies played at the same time randomly together.

You could be forgiven to think this would sound chaotic and distressing. However most people feel calmed and relaxed when listening to white noises.

Examples of white noise  include the crackling of an old radio, the sound of rain, rustling of leaves, and the sound of the sea. These are all pretty calming sounds right?

What can white noise help with?

White noise is great for blocking out distracting background noises and sounds. This is one reason why many people experience relaxation and pleasure when listening to the sea. Many people use white noises to enhance relaxation and meditation.

A lot of people report that white noise helps them sleep. Many people with sleep problems can be helped with white noise playing whilst they drift off.

White noise can also help a person concentrate, ease stress, and help with self hypnosis.

How does white noise work?white noise

White noise helps distracting noises fade into the other noises so they no longer distract. These sounds blend into the rest of the white noise. Then there are no sounds that stand out and catch your attention. It’s nothing like hypnosis!

White noise guides your mind away from conscious thought. White noise blocks out cues to think in a conscious way, allowing a more creative and relaxed frame of mind.

Many people strongly believe that white noise carries therapeutic qualities because it is a similar sound to what we experience when in the womb before birth. Many parents note that their babies settle and fall asleep when driving in the car with a humming engine, or even with the noise of a vacuum cleaner. It seems that at least part of this natural inclination stays with us later in life.

Why is it named white noise?

White noise has its name because of its similarities to white light. White light is a combination of all the colours in the spectrum mixed together. This is why a rainbow is formed when the sunlight hits the rain. The colours are split to display the spectrum of different colours. White noise is similar as it is made up of all the sounds combined together.

Other colours

There are several other coloured sounds. The most notable are pink noise and brown noise. Pink noise focusses more on the lower tones, although it does still contain some of the higher frequencies. Pink noise sounds smoother and less busy than white noise. Pink noise is useful for helping you relax whilst still maintaining focus and energy.

Brown noise has a greater emphasis on the lower frequencies. This deeper sounding noise is helpful for promoting deep sleep, easing headaches, and masking tinnitus.

Breathing Exercises For Health And Energy

UK Clinical Hypnotherapist Jon Rhodes

Correct breathing can make a huge difference to how you feel. It’s difficult to feel upset or angry when you are breathing slowly, deeply and quietly. It is also a great way to help you sleep.

If You Want Help Relaxing, CLICK HERE For My Magical Selection Of Sounds Of Nature

Try this most basic breathing exercise right now…

Breathing ExercisesTake one deep breath, and slowly breathe out. That’s it!

Do you feel more alert and energized now? Lack of oxygen in the blood can make you feel tired, and can cause headaches.

A few deep breaths lowers anxiety, ease mild indigestion, and help you wake up and go to sleep.

Meditation, which is similar to hypnosis, is also very effective at reducing stress. Try these simple breathing exercises daily, or at least when you are feeling stressed and need some time out…

Get yourself comfortable, you can lie or sit. Make sure you won’t be disturbed for about half an hour. Subdue the lighting. Close your eyes if it helps, or better still keep them half open.

Breath as naturally as you can, and count each out breath up to ten. When at ten, start back at one again. Repeat this for about 20 minutes. Notice how your breath is warmer when exhaled. Listen to the sound of the breathing through your body. Enjoy!

Optional Extra

When you are relaxed and comfortable, repeat to yourself a keyword such as “relax”. After a minute or two, tell yourself that whenever you say your keyword, no matter where you are or what you are doing, you will return to this state of relaxation.

Try this in various different situations in your day to day life, you will be amazed at the results!

—–

The Alternative Nostril Breath

Sit or lie in a comfortable position. Breathe in through the left nostril (you may need to use a finger to keep your right nostril closed), and hold for a relaxed ten count. Now exhale gently out of the right nostril.

Repeat this breathing in through your right nostril with your and exhaling out of the left. The whole process should be repeated about 5 times

This is great for energising and relaxing, and clearing your sinuses.

Focused breathing is probably the best way to fight stress and keep relaxed. If you want guided meditation for breathing, check this out…

Be Your Own Boss (Of Your Life)

Jon Rhodes
UK Clinical Hypnotherapist Jon Rhodes

Would you like to gain more control of your life? Do people make life decisions for you? Would you like to have pride and faith in your decision-making? If you answer ‘yes’ to any of these, read on…

(CLICK HERE to learn how to deal with bullies)

You do not have to be a leader to have a successful and fulfilling life, but you must be the boss of your own life. If not, people WILL manipulate you.

Usually when someone tries to influence you, they take the stance of how the decision would benefit them if they were in your position. They are not you. Something that is right for them is not necessarily right for you.

It’s always worth listening to advice. However it’s your life, your decision, and you who must face the consequences if things ‘go wrong’. You should always make the decision yourself, especially if there are manipulators in your life. Do you think that innovators such as Edison, Einstein, Da Vinci or Mozart blindly followed others advice?

CLICK HERE for 10 top tips to learn how to be more assertive

Be Your Own Boss (Of Your Life)Many of us were conditioned in early life to surrender our power. Our parents, family, teachers, society etc. taught us to be followers rather than leaders. Do any of these rules look familiar?

  • Be quiet
  • Don’t get too big for your boots
  • Be seen and not heard
  • Think of others before you think of yourself
  • Be happy with what you have got
  • Don’t show off
  • Do as you are told
  • Don’t be a know it all
  • Don’t get too excited
  • Be modest
  • Do not answer back

These suggestions are bombarded into the brains of children for many years. Whilst the intention is good, they do not help in later life. They leave us dependent on other’s permission and opinions to lead us.

Most people are too afraid to quit their job and start their own business; too afraid to ask their boss for a raise; too afraid to ‘sell themselves’ at job interviews; don’t believe they can (or should be) great at anything. Great people like Nelson Mandela and Muhammed Ali were certainly not afraid to be great, and make a difference.

Instead of these limiting viewpoints, how about adopting these instead…

  • Be ambitious
  • Don’t be modest
  • Think big
  • Be noticed
  • Be enthusiastic about your ideas
  • Be proud of yourself
  • Have confidence in your abilities
  • Be brave
  • Do not apologise if you have done nothing wrong

There is a great person in each and every one of us. It can be unlocked by believing in ourselves, and having the courage to follow our ideas. What use is a shrinking violet to the world? Does the world really admire these people? Do you admire these people?

Let go of these limiting suggestions of your past and embrace new positive ways of being. Go for the things you want in life. Be seen. Be heard. Be proud. Be successful. You deserve it!

How To Achieve Your Life Goals

Jon Rhodes
UK Clinical Hypnotherapist Jon Rhodes

How To Achieve Your Life Goals…

We all have certain goals in life and I am here today to help you achieve yours!

(Learn how to achieve you life’s goals by taking action)

The first thing you have to do to achieve your life goals is clearly define them. Right now I want you to pull out a piece of paper and fold it in half. Open it up again so there is a crease in the middle, creating two sections.

Close your eyes and picture your “ideal self” in five years time. What exactly is it about your current life you would like to change or improve?

Choose something relationship related and something financially related. Perhaps you’d like to find the partner of your dreams and be able to afford a beautiful family home. Maybe you’d like to have more close friends and a brand new sports car. Whatever it is you want write down, on the left hand side of the paper, your relationship goal and, on the right hand side of the paper, your financial goal.

How To Achieve Your Life GoalsMake five spaced out bullet points on both side of the paper. I’m going to use the first example of wanting a loving partner and a fantastic home. These are lofty goals but with hard work are very possible.

(CLICK HERE to check out my Top 5 Books That Will Change Your Life)

First lets look at the goal of finding a partner. You need to think of five things you can do to help attain this goal. In this case it could be:

  • Ask family and friends if they know any suitable matches.
  • Take a night class (a great way to meet new people).
  • Join a dating website.
  • Improve confidence.
  • Ask a close friend to help you spruce up your image.

While your five bullet points for your financial goal of owning a better house could be:

  • Ask for a pay raise.
  • Work more hours.
  • Cut back on unnecessary spending.
  • Regularly check the house market for bargains.
  • Improve your current house in inexpensive ways (such as a new coat of paint around the windows).

Okay, you’ve picked your goals and made points on how to get there. Now I want you to take that piece of paper and put it somewhere prominent in your house. It could be on your bedroom door or perhaps on your fridge. Every day you wake up the first thing you should do is go over to your “Goal List” and take in what you need to do to achieve your goals. Then every night, before you go to bed, go back to your list and look at what you have achieved. You want to have done something everyday to help you get closer to your goals.

This is a long journey but ultimately well worth while. That’s how to achieve your life goals.
